Fall Fun!
Fall is my favorite time of year (and I like to think my puppers’ favorite time of year too) because there are so many fun activities that you can do with your pup! To make it even more fun you can add some festive fall attire. From bow ties to dresses, skirts, bandanas, costumes and so much more, you can find the perfect outfit to match the activity! Below we have listed some of our favorite fall activities.
- Apple Picking: If you have apple orchards nearby, apple picking is a super fun activity to take your pup too. They can traipse with you through the orchards, take in the fresh air, and see the sights. Some orchards will even let you bring your pup on the hayride! Our pups like to finish off a trip to the orchard with some vanilla ice cream from the farm store. Sun’s out, tongues out!
- Pumpkin Patch/Farm: Along with the apple orchard, pumpkin patches offer fresh air, new smells for sniffing, and best of all….great picture taking opportunities! A lot of pumpkin patches have cute little scenes set up where you can take pictures with your pup! Don’t forget to get your pup a pumpkin of their very own!
- Costume Contests: So many places are now offering costume contests for pups. Whether you like to make your pup’s costume or buy it, they will look adorable either way! You can also do group or family costumes, matching your pup yourself or if you have multiple pups and making them match each other.
- Costume Parades: If you like to hit up the breweries with your pup keep your eye out for pet costume parades! It’s always fun to join in the parade fun or even just to be a spectator with your pup!
- Pumpkin Paw Prints: I will admit, this activity is more for the paw parents than for the pups, but it will be a fun keepsake of your pup. Get a pumpkin (I like the fake ones so I can keep it forever) and some paint. Dip your pet’s paw in the paint and stamp it all over the pumpkin. Be sure to use non-toxic paint and wash it all the way off to keep those puppers safe.
- Woof or Treat: Keep your eye out locally for puppy trick or treating. They can dress up and get some yummy treats and toys.
- Pumpkin Egg Hunt: Get jack-o-lantern eggs (available at Target and Amazon) and fill them with your pup’s favorite treats. Hide them around the house or yard and let your pup follow their nose to find the eggs.
- Fall Hikes: Simple, but so refreshing, going for a hike in the cool fall air with the leaves all around you changing into their beautiful new colors. The only thing better than hiking in the fall is hiking in the fall with your fur baby.Â
